After knocking off for school and work on Friday 18th September, we set off from the Peninsula to South Australia’s Flinders Ranges via Bendigo and Renmark.  It’s pretty depressing knowing you spend around eight hours behind the wheel and still be south of the Murray.

We arrived into Wilpena Pound on Sunday afternoon and made camp.

On Monday morning we walked the ‘Wangara Lookout Hike’ to scope the place out then squeezed the shorter Sacred Canyon walk to check out some Aboriginal rock art.

Tuesday we completed the Bunyeroo Creek Hike which had us quite knackered.

Wednesday morning we checked out the Akaroo Rock Hike for some more Aboriginal rock art.

Wednesday night we arrived into Broken Hill.

Over the few days we saw a whole bunch of emus, herds of wild goats, kangaroos, camels, an echidna, various lizards, heaps of eagles including one massive one feasting on some roadkill between Yunta and Broken Hill.

Good times.
